1. Explore the Wharf and OWA
For a one-stop hub of entertainment, The Wharf in Orange Beach brings shopping, dining, and attractions together in one waterfront destination. Browse boutiques, grab a bit at a local restaurant, book a dolphin cruise, or catch a laser light show! Live music fills the amphitheater weekly, while the Ferris wheel and zipline add a few more ways to take in the scenery from above.
For full-scale amusement park fun, OWA in Foley delivers more than 20 rides and attractions, and when it’s time to wind down, Murder Creek Distillery and C’est Le Vin Wine Bar are great options for craft cocktails, wine, and light bites.
2. Enjoy a Spa Day
The sun and sea can do wonders for sure, but a little reset never hurts. Why not spend a day at a Gulf Shores or Orange Beach spa? Go solo or bring your whole crew for a full day of pampering. Serenity at the Beach specializes in a range of spa and salon services, including couples packages and wedding prep. CC’s Salon brings everything together in one place, from hair and nail services to skincare and waxing, so you can get beach-ready in a single stop! For something a little different,
3. Take a Class
The Coastal Art Center of Orange Beach is a fun stop for indoor activities the whole family can enjoy while learning something new! Adult art classes, kids’ programs, and teen workshops make it easy to get hands-on, whether you’re joining a group session, booking a private class, or celebrating a birthday with a Pick-N-Paint party. Try your hand at glass blowing, painting, or pottery, then browse the gallery for watercolor prints, photography, pottery, and sculptures made by local artists.
4. Throw an Axe
Another fun indoor activity in nearby Foley, the Bier Shack Tap Room, brings together craft beer, wine, cider, and cocktails in a laid-back game-filled atmosphere. Challenge your group to a game of pool or try axe-throwing, where the goal is simple: stick closest to the bullseye and rack up points based on accuracy. Throw in German-inspired pub food, and you’ve got a great night out with food, drinks, and a little friendly competition!
5. Browse the Museums
Interactive museums in the area are a hit with both kids and adults. Here are some well worth the roughly hour-long ride:
- The National Naval Aviation Museum is packed with fun activities, including flight simulators, cockpit trainers, and an immersive virtual flight deck. Browse the aircraft galleries, and catch a film on the first lunar landing on the giant screen theater.
- Exploreum Science Center promotes science through hands-on learning. With evolving galleries and a dome theater showing films ranging from dinosaurs of Antarctica to a journey to space, it’s truly a memorable experience.
- Explore artifacts, exhibits, and displays commemorating the service of WWII vessels at Battleship Memorial Park. Through self-guided tours of the USS Alabama battleship and the USS Drum submarine, you can learn about the men who served aboard, view tanks and artillery, and stroll through the memorial honoring veterans of all wars.
6. Get Your Jump On
We’re pretty sure The Factory trampoline park in Gulf Shores was intended for kids, but that doesn’t keep people of all ages from joining in! Jump, climb, and swing your way through foam pits, a ninja obstacle course, and dodgeball courts, and that’s just for a warm-up. You’ll also find a rope swing, climbing walls, and an adrenaline tower sure to get your blood pumping!
7. Shop Until You Drop
With nearly 100 brand names and designer stores for men, women, and children, Tanger Outlets will keep the whole family looking top-notch, both on the beach and off the beach. Open seven days a week, and with plenty of restaurants nearby, it’s a fun afternoon outing. Check the website before you shop to find the best deals while you’re here!
8. Catch a Flick
Grab your favorite snacks, kick back, and catch the latest releases at AMC Classic. Located right in the heart of The Wharf, it’s a simple way to unwind at the end of the day, with dining and entertainment just steps away!
9. Become an Escape Artist
Decipher codes and locks and uncover hidden clues in a one-hour real-life adventure at Breakout Games in Orange Beach. Each round typically accommodates up to eight players but will accept more for an upcharge. After your escape, take a short walk over to Villagio Grille for coastal-inspired Italian dishes and craft cocktails!
10. Be a Kid Again
There was something special about hanging out at the arcade as a kid: the games were simple, the wins felt big, and the next level always seemed within reach. You can relive that feeling at Fat Daddy’s Arcade, where dozens of games bring back the fun. Whether you prefer traditional favorites, the latest releases, or interactive games, you’ll find it all right there.
